Hello, fellow adventurer. Consider this license to be your map through the land of copyrights and trademarks as you create your own Roll Player Adventures content. We wanted this license to be simple and to enable you to use our game elements in new and creative ways. But there are rules. You should read them.
1. Adventure License.
Thunderworks Games, LLC (we, us, our) grants you a non-exclusive, non-commercial, royalty-free right to use and distribute the designated game elements in your own original works subject to the terms of this license. This license is personal to you and you cannot extend it to anyone else without our permission.
2. Attribution Required.
If you distribute your original work, you must include the following attribution (including a copy of, or link to, this license) prominently and somewhere closely associated with your original work:
Certain copyrighted art and graphic design elements courtesy of Thunderworks Games, LLC and the used with permission under, and subject to, the Roll Player Adventure License. www.thunderworksgames.com/rpla
You can comply with this requirement by including the attribution in places like the bottom of the first page, in credits to the video, or in the footer of cards featuring our designated game elements.
3. Definitions used in this license.
For purposes of this license, the following terms have the associated meanings:
- “designated game elements” means the art, templates, and graphic design elements that we have provided to you and packaged together with this license. The designated game elements do not include our trademarks (see below) or any other game-related materials like the written rules, rulebooks, or other similar materials.
- “distribute” means to share with another person in any manner including to publicly perform or to make available in a manner that another person may download, print, view, or copy.
- “non-exclusive” means that others (including us) can use the designated game elements.
- “non-commercial” means you may not sell or monetize any of the designated game elements whether alone or in combination with your original works. You may receive indirect revenue, such as generalized ad revenue from a website, and you may use commercial printing services to make personal, non-resale copies of your original work so long as you do not make a fee on such copies.
- “royalty-free” means that as long as you abide by the terms of this license, you do not need to pay us anything additional.
- “use” means you are free to copy, to create derivative works of, and to modify and adapt the designated game elements to fit your needs in any medium including print, video, digital, or audio.
- “in your original works” means that you have used the game elements as part of some creative endeavor of your own in which you contribute some nominal amount of creative effort. Put another way, you cannot share or distribute the designated game elements by themselves (e.g., you may not simply repackage the art or templates or make a catalog of the art by itself), only with something new and creative you contribute.
4. Use of Names.
We own the trademark rights in the names and logos associated with the Roll Player games including Thunderworks Games, Roll Player, and Roll Player Adventures. This license does not include the right to use our logos or trademarks.
However, you may:
However, you may:
- Use and reference our trademarks with your original works in a nominative manner so long as it does not appear that your work is our work or appear to be endorsed by us. For example, you may state “An unofficial Roll Player Adventures adventure”. If we ask you to change how you use our trademarks, you will do so immediately.
- Reference characters, locations, races, classes, non-player characters, and other similar game elements by name in connection with your creative content under this license. This permission does not include the right to copy, modify or adapt the associated written material included with our games.
5. Certain Limitations.
Copyright Rights. The designated game elements are our copyrighted materials, and nothing in this license transfers any rights (or ownership) to you in the designated game elements, or any derivatives of the designated game elements, other than as expressly stated in this license. You must remove or alter any content we, in our sole discretion, believe is in violation of this provision.
No warranties or liabilities. We are providing the designated game elements as-is without any representations or warranties of any kind. We do not make any representations or warranties as to the continued availability, form or format, or compatibility of the designated game elements.
